Due to the unprecedented entry levels received by Surfing GB for this weekend’s British National Surf Championships, contest officials have made the following decisions;

  • Surfers are to be limited to surfing in one category only. Any surfers that have entered in more than one category will automatically be kept in their own age group which they have entered, but however can opt to compete in the alternative age they have entered if they so desire e.g. An Under 14 surfer that has entered into both the Under 14’s & Under 16’s will automatically be removed from the U16’s & kept in the U14’s, however can choose to surf in the U16’s & not the U14’s.
  • Surfers that have entered into the men’s or women’s OPEN division are allowed to compete in this division as well as their Junior or Senior/Masters/Veterans category entryg. an Under 18’s surfer that has entered both the Girls U18’s & the Women’s Open is permitted to surf in both of these categories.

This decision has not been taken lightly, but with an entry of over 220 & 2 days to operate it we decided that other options considered (including 15 minute heats, triple peaks & relocations) were not in keeping with the prestige of the event as we commit to ensuring 4 man 20 minute heats as much as possible.

Please see the following excel spreadsheet to view the full entry list. Surfers ONLY need to contact us if they wish to be moved to a different age category & this must be specified by 8pm on Wednesday 21st October, no other changes will be made after that time & the entry will be kept as it is. NO additional entries can be made for the women’s or men’s open category but surfers can request to be added to the ongoing alternate/reserve list.

Please email to state any changes required. If your name is not on the list or you spot an error then please email Nick. Please do not phone us.

If you have been removed from a division then a full refund will be issued, please email with your details for us to online transfer your funds.

We have a promising forecast but the call will be made for the event at 6pm on Wednesday via SGB social media. Check in for all surfers will be 7:30am on Saturday morning at Downend Field, Croyde. We will operate a double peak event & must take advantage of daylight, especially with the clock change on Saturday night.

Alternate/reserve entry interest can be registered with if you have not entered any division to date & we will confirm on Thursday/Friday whether space is available.

We thank you for your patience & understanding. It is clear that this event has now outgrown its current format & timescale which is a fantastic sign for British Surfing & enables us to make changes in 2016.
