We frequently mention the UKs flourishing club scene, but once a year we get to celebrate it, and this celebration comes in the form of the UK’s largest grass roots surf event, The British Interclub Surfing Championships. This years event was hosted by Croyde Surf club, brought to you by Surfing GB & sponsored by the technological wizards at Acer.
The 2014 Acer British Interclubs will be remembered as an event that surpassed all expectations & supplied on every level, in pure Interclubs style. The celebration played out across 2 days of competitive rivalry as clubs came together and put their best and most social surfers to the test with tag team races, beach flag sprints with a difference (swop flags for Korev beer & you get the idea), and an oceanic playground for the surfers to twist, turn & punt their way around, all in the sunshine that engulfed North Devons premier beach break.
The party at Billy Budds was amazing
Congratulations to all the teams who put on a magnificent display of surfing and sportsmanship, well done to Croyde Surf Club who used their local knowledge to impress the judges and take a clean sweep of titles in Junior, Womens, Open & Overall Club champions.
