Surfing GB is pleased to announce the date of our 3rd AGM and extend a warm invitation to all. We continue to build our organisation and are proud of our growing volunteer-led member base. Surfing GB is a not- for -profit organisation seeking National Governing Body recognition, and aims to increase participation and opportunity in Surfing, raise standards of performance, and providing a service to members and the public.
At our AGM we take the opportunity to deliver our annual report of operations, accounts, and plans; and thank our volunteers and staff for their efforts. We are always looking for new energy and new ideas. Whether you possess a particularly useful set of skills or are simply a member who wants to put something back, Surfing GB wants to hear from you. If you love Surfing, and want to help shape the future for Surfing in Great Britain, this is an opportunity for you to answer the call. Surfing GB is a democratic membership organisation- if you are a surfer it is there for YOU. We vote annually for Director positions. After more than two years of hard work, open meetings, accounting and reviews of policies we have reached the landmark date that allows us to re-apply for recognition as a National Governing Body.
This year the SGB Board and committees will be extended to offer board positions to representatives from all the Home Nations Federations and ensure representation from all major surfing partners (BLU, BSUPA & BBC) Please see below for election rules and information.
If you want to get involved as a volunteer but don’t want to stand as an elected director, our management committee is the place to start! This committee is made up of experienced, knowledgeable and passionate volunteers and works with our professional staff on projects and proposals that will benefit surfers and surfing across the UK. Our current committee includes experts on Inclusion, Performance, Women’s surfing, Coaching, Surf Schools, Clubs, Communications, Education, Events, Environment, Fundraising, Judging & Media. If you feel you can help with any of these areas of operation please volunteer!
