Night Surf

Nike and Carve have got together to offer 24 surfers the opportunity to surf in their own non-judged heats under floodlights at the Nike Night surf. To get your chance take part in your very own Night Surf head to put your name on the list, then tag the photo and like it on Facebook. We will then pick 24 surfers at random to take part.

To enter participants must:

  • Be a competent surfer aged 18+ on the 21st Sept 2012
  • Be able to swim a minimum of 50M in open water unaided
  • Hold relevant personal liability (ie SGB insurance)
  • Confirmed participants will be asked to donate £10 to Surf Relief on registration
  • Registration will be at the organisers office on Fistral beach and must be completed no later than 8pm 21st Sept or risk losing their place
  • Carve will run an alternate list for any no shows.

The Nike Night Surf returns this week to the UK’s world-class break of Fistral Beach, Newquay in Cornwall. The event is set to deliver two days of fierce competition under the bright lights as well as a chance for the public to experience floodlit surfing.

Surfers in 6 categories – Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Pro Junior, U-16 Boys, U-16 Girls and U-12 – will compete in a bid to win a share of the largest prize purse on the UK Pro Tour, with all divisions holding qualifying points for the GB Squad.

New in 2012 is the addition of a night Expression Session on Friday evening, where the country’s best aerial surfers push the progression of the sport in a display of aerial domination. Friday also sees the opportunity for 24 local surfers to paddle out and experience surfing under the floodlights in the Carve Magazine Public Session.

Out of the water, spectators will be able to watch a showcase from the UK’s finest surfers with DJs supplying the soundtrack and a premiere of Kai Neville’s Surfing film ‘Dear Suburbia’, featuring Nike Surfing’s Kolohe Andino & Julian Wilson.
