Around £25,000 is needed to send the squad of 12 to the event who fly out on April 7th. Parents along with Surfing GB have been busy trying to raise money over the last few weeks and secure sponsorship. Drinks company Calypso has kindly agreed to pledge £5000 towards the team, however many of the teenagers still need to find a few more pounds.
Families and friends will be donning fancy dress, shaking tins, taking part in paddle races, washing cars, doing sponsored board signings, busking, in fact anything to raise a smile as well as cash for the cause.

Team Manager Matt Knight says; “This is really our last big push to try and get as many of the team to compete in the competition as possible. They have worked so hard to get this far, both in terms of training as well as getting the money together so we are really asking for the support of the surfing community to get behind the team. It is vital we encourage and support the grass roots level of surfing in order for Great Britain to be a major player on the international surfing scene.”
